Specialized Learning for the Whole Child (PDF)
Linden Grove School provides specialized learning for K-8 students with autism and related learning needs.
Our progressive education program integrates academics, social-emotional learning, and specialized supports to help each child maximize his or her potential.
We partner with families and community members to ensure each student feels safe, engaged, supported and challenged, to promote long-term success.
Academics
Academic instruction is based on Ohio Department of Education Learning Standards. Small class sizes and low teacher:student ratios ranging from 1:3 to 1:7 enable teachers to provide individualized attention and encourage active participation.
Research-based education programs proven to increase student achievement are utilized at all grade levels. LEGO® education programs, robotics classes, and other specialty courses inspire creativity and critical thinking. An applied skills program for grades 6 through 8 prepares students to live independently through learning activities such as grocery shopping, cooking, service learning projects, and more.
Social-Emotional Learning
The development of social and emotional skills is critical for success in school and in life.
Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts and other specialists work in collaboration with the entire staff to help students develop the skills to manage their emotions, communicate effectively and learn and play cooperatively. In addition, an individualized sensory plan is created for each student, to help him or her maximize their learning potential.
Specialized Supports
Occupational and speech therapy are provided to all students every week individually or in small groups. Play therapy sessions are available during the school day through private pay or an insurance plan; one-on-one interoception sessions are available during or after school through private pay.
After School & Summer Programs
After-school programs, extra-curricular activities and summer camp are available for enrolled students. Offerings include cooking classes, LEGO® Club, Taekwondo and more.
